About Leasee

In the year 2008 a decision was made for the first time to request open tenders for the leasing of the fishing rights in Miðfjarðará and Litla-Kverká in Bakkafjörður. Until that time, the same group of people, who are also landowners in the area, had leased the fishing rights for nearly half a century. Several offers were submitted and an offer from Guðmundur Már Stefánsson, in co-operation with other experienced salmon fishers, including Haukur Geir Garðasson, was accepted and an agreement was concluded.

The current leasing agreement will expire at the end of summer 2018.
